“The Tale of Valour” tells the heroic story of Major Somnath Sharma, the first recipient of India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra. He led his outnumbered company against Pakistani infiltrators at the Battle of Badgam in 1947, fighting bravely to defend the Srinagar airport from falling and securing the Kashmir Valley for India. Despite being injured and ultimately killed by a mortar shell, his unwavering courage and leadership delayed the enemy for six hours, inspiring his men to fight to the last bullet and enabling reinforcements to secure the area.
